Delectra H. Simpson

A native of Shelby, North Carolina, Sis. Delectra H. Simpson, our First
Lady, completed her undergraduate studies from the University of North
Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina where she obtained a Bachelor of
Science degree in Business Administration. After working for R.J. Reynolds
Tobacco Company for 2 years in Disbursements Accounting, she pursued and
graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Business Administration degree in
Marketing from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1992.
Having over 10 years of experience in marketing and financial analysis, Ms.
Simpson has worked for Kayser-Roth Corporation (a manufacturer of sheer
pantyhose and socks), HockWare (a computer software company), Computer
Associates (an IT management software company), Quaker Oats Company (a
leading provider of Quaker Oatmeal, Gatorade, and Rice a Roni), Canaan
Community Redevelopment Corporation (CCRC), and now BB&T (which has over
$118.5 Billion in assets).
As chief operations officer for CCRC, she developed, marketed, and managed
afterschool and summer initiatives, employment/computer training and
placement, and community counseling programs to over 1000 Chicago residents.
She was instrumental in many collaborative efforts, including partnerships
with the City of Chicago - the Department of Human Services, the Chicago
Park District, Afterschool Matters, TASC (a juvenile offender's program),
Imagine Englewood IF, Rebirth of Englewood, the State of Illinois, Southern
Baptist Association, World Vision, and E-Angel.
Since her family moved to Clayton and joined First Church, Pastor appointed
First Lady Simpson as Acting Youth Ministry Team Leader, Youth Sunday School
and Youth Bible Study Teacher, and the 2006 Daughters of Zion Ministry Team
Leader. Whatever is needed, First Lady fills in and utilizes her gifts and
talents in the Kingdom-building process.
